Aistech Space is declared a strategic technology company by CDTI

  • The Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI) has approved its participation in Aistech’s Series B funding round through a co-investment of up to €22.5M via its SICC Innvierte.
  • The company already has the support of Global Portfolio Investment (GPI) and Pelliga Family Office, through which it has raised €8.5M for the current funding round.
  • This designation strengthens the satellite company’s positioning as a key player in the European space ecosystem.

Aistech Space, a Spanish space technology company dedicated to the detection, tracking and monitoring of temperature changes on Earth, providing space-based data, information and solutions focused on the management of resources, assets and critical infrastructure as well as areas of strategic interest, enabling analysis capabilities and decision-making processes, has been declared a strategic company by the Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI), under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. This designation represents a significant recognition and support for Aistech’s technology, while also fostering the company’s growth and technological development, and reinforcing its position as one of the key players in the space sector in Spain and Europe.

This institutional backing is part of the Innvierte initiative, aimed at promoting investment in high-potential innovative companies. Under this designation, CDTI has committed to co-invest up to €22.5 million alongside private investors in the Series B funding round, which is expected to close this year. The company has already secured €8.5 million, contributed by Global Portfolio Investment (€8M) and Pelliga Family Office (€0.5M).

“This recognition is a milestone that validates our vision and technological approach and strengthens the confidence of the sector and the market in our technical capabilities, vision and business model. It allows us to accelerate the deployment of our satellite constellation and consolidate our position in the global Earth observation market,” said Carles Franquesa, co-founder and CEO of Aistech Space.

Guillermo Valenzuela, co-founder and CEO, added: “This distinction from CDTI represents a fundamental endorsement that strengthens our capacity to innovate and grow. It drives us to continue leading the development of advanced space technologies that help position Spain as a benchmark in the European space sector.”

A distinctive recognition

With this designation, Aistech Space joins a select group of innovative Spanish companies that stand out in key sectors such as aerospace, defence, artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
Innvierte, the venture capital initiative managed by CDTI Innovación, has recently closed several co-investment operations aimed at companies developing advanced technologies in strategic fields such as sustainable mobility, space propulsion and artificial intelligence. The incorporation of Aistech Space into this network reinforces CDTI’s commitment to strengthening the national technological ecosystem in the aerospace sector.
